Cameroon Customs establishes this privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this policy”) regarding the handling of information including personal information (hereinafter referred to as “user information”) of users of the CMR Customs Declaration App provided by Cameroon Customs.

PROVIDER OF APP WHICH COLLECTS USER INFORMATION DIRECTION GENERAL OF CUSTOMS

COLLECTION AND USE OF USER INFORMATION

This app collects the following user information and other necessary information for Customs procedures (hereinafter referred to as “user information, etc.”) for the purpose of Customs procedures for your entry into Cameroon.

Passport number
Passport issuing country Name
Date of Birth
Nationality
Profession
Phone number
Address (Where you stay in Cameroon)
Other necessary information for Customs procedures (ex. Flight number, Point of boarding)
User information etc. which this app collects will be provided to Cameroon Customs via an electronic declaration terminal which is deployed at all airports allowing access to the country.

If you disclose to Customs personal information relating to other people in connection with the App, you will state that you have the authority to do so and allow us to use the information in accordance with the present privacy policy.

We also process aggregated information (hereinafter referred to as “statistical information”). Customs use or disclose statistical information for different purposes, in accordance with applicable laws.

PROVISION OF USER INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES

Customs may use user information, provided via Cameroon Customs Electronic Declaration terminal, as necessary to the extent allowed by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, which is in force in Cameroon and other applicable regulations:

to comply with applicable laws, including Cameroon laws and other laws outside your country of residence as appropriate. to respond to requests from other government authorities, including public and government authorities of Cameroon and those in other countries as appropriate. to protect Customs operations. to protect your and Customs’ rights, property, or safety, and/or that of others. to allow Customs to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

DISCLOSURE, CORRECTION, ADDITION OR DELETION OF USER INFORMATION

User information collected by this app. can be corrected or deleted by uninstalling this app.

For all support needed regarding the disclosure, correction, addition or deletion of information provided by the user before submitting his declaration via the electronic terminal, please contact Customs officials.

NOTICE AND PUBLICATION OF PRIVACY POLICY

Customs will provide notice and publication of this policy and the Customs privacy policy by posting it on the Customs website.

REVISION

Customs reserves the right to modify this policy at its discretion. However, if there is any change in the user information to be collected, the purpose of use, or provision to third parties, Customs will post the revised policy on its website.
